Don't Let Perfection Be The Enemy Of Action

I was watching the NFL Network a few weeks ago, and after a meeting one of the executives who was very excited about was asked "Why change the rule if it doesn't fix the entire problem?" His response was "Don't let perfection be the enemy of action."

If being a perfectionist is going to keep you from taking action on your goals, then stop trying to be perfect. I talk to parents all the time who would love to start classes with their child, children, or family, but are waiting to get in shape first. Well waiting to get in shape to get in shape doesn't make a lot of sense does it. The other excuse is waiting for their life to calm down. Well from the moment you have children until they move out, it is hard to believe that there is much calmness in your life.

The point is why wait, because the hardest step to acheiving any goal is the first one.
